About the author
When the coup began in March 1979, George Griffith was Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador to the United States of America, and Alternate Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS). A graduate of three universities, he was a high-ranking official in the Gairy administration.
In his book, George shares his knowledge of the Gairy’s political reign from its beginnings in trade unionism, exile, and return to Grenadian politics following the US invasion in 1983.
A child of colonial Grenada and public servant during the struggle for its independence, he shares his insights into the rise and fall of the ‘movement’.
